AWS Select Tier Partner

Secure AWS Architecture. From Startup Stacks to GovCloud.

QStart Labs designs, builds, and runs AWS infrastructure as an AWS Select Tier Partner — including CJIS-compliant systems live in AWS GovCloud today. Everything defined in code, deployed through pipelines, and sized to what you actually use.

See Our Cloud Work

For startups building on AWS for the first time, SMBs outgrowing infrastructure that was never designed, and enterprises that need GovCloud and compliance-ready architecture.

We Don't Just Host on AWS — We Architect for It

Plenty of firms will spin up EC2 instances and call it cloud architecture. We design AWS environments the way AWS intends them to be built: infrastructure defined in code, workloads on managed services, least-privilege access, and monitoring from day one. The proof isn't a certification wall — it's what's running. Our architecture powers a CJIS-compliant public safety platform live in AWS GovCloud. If it holds up there, it will hold up for your workload.

  • AWS Select Tier Partner — validated by AWS, not self-declared
  • GovCloud in production — one of few regional firms with live systems there
  • Build and run — the team that architects your environment operates it

Our Go-To Building Blocks

The stack we deploy in production today — not a logo wall of every AWS service.

If It Isn't in the Repo, It Doesn't Exist

We build every environment with AWS CDK. No hand-configured consoles, no tribal knowledge.

Identical environments

Dev, staging, and production deploy from the same code, so what you test is what you ship.

Auditable changes

Every infrastructure change is a pull request with a reviewer — exactly what compliance auditors want to see.

Disaster recovery you can prove

An environment defined in code can be rebuilt in a new region from scratch, not reconstructed from memory.

No lock-in to us

You own the AWS account and the CDK code. Any competent team can pick it up.

Containers Where They Pay Off

Most of what we ship runs in containers on ECS Fargate: consistent from laptop to production, autoscaled, deployed through CI/CD, and free of servers to patch. When you need to break up a monolith or untangle a legacy deployment, that's a service we deliver — with an honest opinion about how far to take it, because a well-factored monolith on Fargate beats a distributed mess. For teams with existing Kubernetes investment or orchestration needs beyond ECS, we deliver on Amazon EKS too.

Right-Sized by Design

The biggest AWS savings come from architecture, not billing-console tricks. Fargate instead of idle EC2 fleets. Aurora instead of over-provisioned databases. Serverless where traffic is spiky. Environments that scale down when nobody's using them. Already on AWS and suspicious of your bill? Request a free 30-minute Cloud Cost Audit and we'll show you exactly where the waste is.

AWS Cloud FAQ

Yes — QStart Labs is an AWS Select Tier Partner, a status validated by AWS based on certified staff and launched customer workloads. It's not a self-awarded badge. We build almost exclusively on AWS, which means depth on one platform rather than surface familiarity with three.
Real, in-production GovCloud experience. We architected and operate C2 Platforms, a CJIS-compliant public safety platform used by a major metropolitan police department, in AWS GovCloud. GovCloud differs from commercial AWS in service availability, identity management, and compliance boundaries — we've already navigated those differences.
Yes. We start with an architecture and cost review: what's running, what it costs, where the security gaps are, and what breaks first under growth. From there we migrate the environment to infrastructure as code incrementally — no big-bang rebuild required.
Whichever fits the workload — we run both in production. Our default for application backends is containers on ECS Fargate: predictable performance, no servers to manage, straightforward local development. Lambda earns its place for event-driven tasks, scheduled jobs, and spiky workloads. We'll show you the reasoning and the cost math, not a dogma.
Architecture first: Fargate and serverless over idle instances, Aurora over over-provisioned databases, autoscaling and scheduled scale-downs, and budget alarms wired into CloudWatch. Because everything is defined in CDK, right-sizing is a reviewable code change. We also offer a free 30-minute Cloud Cost Audit of your existing bill.
You do. We build in your AWS account, and all CDK code lives in your repository. If we ever part ways, you keep a fully documented, reproducible environment that any competent team can operate.
